RETHINKING ORGANISATIONS

"Rethinking Organisations” (Danish: Organisationer Gentænkt) is our largest research and organisational development project. Organisations meet and inspire each other’s tranformation work in a very direct way, and AGORA facilitate the learning, while researching three powerful questions:

  • What change in an organisation developing from a teal mindset? Practices, behaviours, scaffolds, mindsets, cultures, shared meaning, identity, etc.

  • How does the change happen? Defining moments, critical factors, individuals roles, neccessary conditions, exceptions, catalyzing events or practices, crisis and drawbacks, etc.

  • How does it change the life of the people working in the organisation? Wellbeing, health, creativity, identity, sense of responsibility, autonomy, joy, etc.

We keep creating new versions of the project since the very first one in 2016. Organisationer Gentænkt#4 launched in September 2022 and Organisationer Gentænkt#5 will start in 2023. Contact Andreas Juhl or Anne Thybring if you want to know more.

The knowledge producing school

The aim of the project “The Knowledge Producing School” (Danish: Videnproducerende skoler) is to experiment with new ways of organizing schools. Overall, the project is based on the idea that the knowledge and professional skills that schools have and will need to succeed already exist in schools. A school can easily obtain knowledge and inspiration from other schools - as it will also happen in the project - or from literature, but transferred knowledge only becomes a real resource when it has been tested in practice and evaluated by the school's own teams and shared in the whole school.

We invite new schools into the circle for the third version of Project Knowledge Producing Schools #3 (KPS#3). The methods Positive Deviations and Micro Experiments will continue to constitute a practical-methodological platform. The experience from previous projects has sharpened our awareness of this platform's capacity to make teaching teams much more innovative and resilient. We see great potential in strengthening these trends. Going forward, we will draw inspiration from self-organizing practices that increase teams' autonomy and empowerment, while management to a greater extent take facilitating and spaceholding roles. These practices are partly inspired by AGORAs projects Rethinking Organisations and partly by Frederic Laloux' book (2015) Reinventing Organisations.

We keep creating new versions of the project since the first one began in 2016. The next project KPS#3 will begin early 2023. 2 schools have already signed in. Contact Katrine Copmann Abildgaard or Andreas Granhof Juhl if you want to know more.
